According to a recent Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate (CARA) study, it is estimated that only 23 percent of U.S. Catholics attend Mass each week. 77 percent that are absent are our parents, siblings, spouses, children, and
Friends.
Sherry Weddell, in her book Forming Intentional Disciples, writes that 10% of all adults in America are ex-Catholics and also states that Nearly 80% of those who have dropped the name "Catholic" and claim no religious affiliation of any kind, have done so by age 23.
Christ calls all people to himself. Throughout his public ministry, the Lord Jesus welcomed the stranger, healed the sick, offered forgiveness, and expressed his eagerness to give rest to the weary and burdened.
We need to Pray with the urgent vigilance of the Father of the prodigal son so that as we anxiously await the return of missing family and friends, we will be ready to run to greet and embrace them.

Pray!!
Please pray for the next 7 days! Pray for an end to this issue! Pray for a family- one our father, one Hail Mary, and One Glory Be for 1 week, for this atrocity that must be stopped, starting with communal prayer. Know that your prayers are being combined with others throughout the diocese!
